Abstract: Corrections and Additions to the work entitled "Geometrid Moths of the World", edited by
M. J. Scoble (Lepidoptera) - III. Centr. ent. Stud., Misc. Pap. 90: 1-5.

This paper deals with the corrections of the work entitled "Geometrid Moths of the World". Totally
102 errors have been corrected. Two junior synonyms have been determined: Eupithecia ronkayi
Vojnits,1994 (syn.nov.), Phalaena bicolorata Fabricius,1798 (syn.nov.). An older synonymous name
has been proposed as valid name for one species: Macaria praeatomata (Haworth,1809) (stat.rev.).
Eleven replacement names have been proposed: Danielaparra (nom.nov.), Eupithecia descimoni ssp.
ecuador (nom.nov), Eupithecia hastaria ssp. tango (nom.nov), Eupithecia uighurica (nom.nov),
Eupithecia nusret (nom.nov), Eupithecia chilensis (nom.nov), Idaea vivacolombia (nom.nov),
Perizoma hydrata ssp. masal (nom.nov), Perizoma cesa (nom.nov), Nyssiodes koreanus (nom.nov),
Scopula cesa (nom.nov).

In the year of 1 999 a very important nomenclatural and taxonomical catalogue has been published by
the Natural History Museum London: "Geometrid Moths of the World". Approximately 35 000 species group
names listed in this catalogue with their original references. We compared the taxonomical information given in
this catalogue with the basic information of our Centre. As a result of this, numerous geographical, taxonomical
and nomenclatural errors has been recorded. In the previous issues, the necessary corrections have been made
partly (vide Nr.71 (2001) and Nr. 86 (2002) of this serial). In the present part of this survey, totally 103 serious
errors have been corrected. They have been briefly explained in the following table and grouped as follows;

A - nomenclatural case

Abstract: Two nomenclatural cases in the genera Phtheochroa Stephens and Abrepagoge Razowski
(Tortricidae, Lepidoptera). - Cent. Ent. Stud, Misc. Pap. 90: 5-6.

This paper deals with the nomenclatural status of two tortricid species in the western Palaearctic. Two
replacements names are proposed: Phtheochroa uighurica (nom. nov.), Abrepagoge cesa (nom.nov.).

The taxonomical position of the following species has been discussed and a new combination under
the genus Phtheochroa Stephens established by Razowski (1989). Unfortunately undulata
Danilevski,1962 cannot be used as valid name for the taxon according the Zoological Code (1999), as
it is junior secondary homonym of undulata Lucas, 1946. Therefore, we propose here a replacement
name in the species category for undulata Danilevski,1962 in the following way:

Ramapesiini

The taxonomical position of the following species has been discussed and a new combination under
the genus Abrepagoge Razowski,1992 established by Razowski (1992). Later the specific name
treitschkeana Treitschke,1835 has been listed by Razowski (1993) as a valid name under the same
genus name. Treitschke (1835) proposed this species under the generic name Tortrix Linnaeus. This
name is junior primary homonym of the name Tortrix treitschkeana Fr6hlich,1828; therefore it is
considered as invalid according the Zoological Code (1999). Therefore, we propose here a
replacement name in the species category for treitschkeana Treitschke, 1835 in the following way:

Abrepagoge cesa nomen novum pro Tortrix treitschkeana Treitschke, 1835 nee Fr6hlich,1828
Distribution: Romania, Bulgaria, Russia Federation and Ukraine (cf Razowski, 1993: 673).

Nomenclatural Note on a Lasiocampid species in Surinam (Lepidoptera)

Abstract: Nomenclatural Note on a Lasiocampid species in Surinam (Lepidoptera). Centr. ent. Stud,

Misc. Pap. 90: 6-7. This paper deals with the nomenclatural correction of a lasiocampid species from

Surinam (South America). Euglyphis phidonia (Stoll,1782) is proposed as valid name. Phalaena

ornata Stoll,1781 is invalid as being junior primary homonym of Phalaena ornata Scopoli,1763

(syn.nov.).

Checklist of the Neotropical Lepidoptera, covering the family Lasiocampidae has been
published by Becker & Heppner (1996). During our preparation on the world wide data base program
on the Lepidoptera, one species, Euglyphis omata (Stoll,1781) has been found by us as junior primary
homonym. According to the current Zoological Code, this name must be treated as invalid. This short
nomenclatural note has been prepared for this purpose. Our proposal are given below:

Euglyphis phidonia (Stoll,1782) (sp. rev.)

= Phalaena omata Stoll,1781 nee Scopoli,1763 (syn.nov.)
=Phalaena phidonia Stoll,1782

Phalaena omata Stoll,1781 is invalid as being junior primary homonym of Phalaena omata
Scopoli,1763. The latter is currently used as valid name of a geometrid species in the genus Scopula
Schrank,1802 of the Palaearctic fauna.

The name Euglyphis phidonia (Stoll,1782) must be used as valid name for the species under
discussion.

Range of the species: Surinam.
